Product Details

Reminded that “one needs very little to create,” San Francisco artist Rob Delamater returned to the basics of color, form, and composition in this series inspired by a residency at the Chateau Orquevaux in France. His medium: a gouache paint, ephemera, and abstract charcoal mix on paper. This is one of three giclée print renderings, all presented in simple black frames, that look good alone and even better together.

  • Giclée on paper
  • Single white matboard
  • Contemporary satin black wood frame
  • Includes innovative system for easy, secure no-wire hanging:
  • Framed by hand by master craftsmen specializing in framing techniques

Additional Information

  • Rob uses forms of printmaking, painting, and collage to craft simplicity steeped in wabi-sabi, the Japanese aesthetic that finds beauty in imperfection. His new works often begin with an idea about color and stem directly from experiences with nature. Rob’s stone-inspired pieces started with a drawing of fallen rocks he encountered in the Andes-a perfect composition, created by an act of nature. He continues to explore the dramatic clash of nature with urban forms in Northern California, particularly along a stretch of Sonoma called Sea Ranch.
